Flight Review: CX439 Airbus 321NEO New Business Class ICN-HKG

Date:

Last month, I flew Cathay Pacific (CX) from ICN to HKG and had the pleasure of experiencing their brand new business class seats on the Airbus A321Neo. They call it the “mini racoon” which I thought was a cute touch!

It was a massive step up from their previous domestic business class offering. I was very impressed! The seats were noticeably wider and offered much more personal space.

The cabin itself had a beautiful, natural, and woody feel to it, which I found calming. The fabric seats were comfortable, but the real standout feature was the recline mechanism.

Unlike some budget business class products (think Jetstar), these seats went beyond the typical footrest and reclining back combo. Instead, they offered a rocking chair-like recline that felt much more supportive. It distributed my weight evenly throughout the seat, rather than putting all the pressure on my lower back. I would say this was the best improvement and definitely the highlight of this product. With this feature, I can comfortably say, they can fly further and arrive more restful.
