11 Tips that will Make Flying Fun Again

Date:

If flying to you has become too monotonous, maybe it is time to try something different or maybe something naughty. Below are 11 ways which, hopefully, be able to invoke some glee and make flying fun again for you.

1. Bring a stuffed toy and have it in every picture (with or without you).

2. Pay for a lounge and help yourself to all the free-flow of alcohol and food. You can eat till you puke but make sure you don’t drink till you drop. Otherwise, instead of missing the flight, you can be denied of boarding the plane if you are too tipsy.

3. Pack a book. Nope, don’t just read any book. It must be interesting enough such that you can read it from cover to cover. Books like (with all due respect) Fault with the stars or The Pianist are no-go zones.  You should generally read something uplifting like The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho or The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. You get what I mean.

4. Leave your kids at home. You need some time alone. Period.

5. If your kids really have to tag along, bring an IPAD. Don’t ask me why, you will thank me for saving your holiday afterwards.

6. Lights, camera, action! You do not want to forget your camera since you might not visit the same place in the near future but more importantly, you want to be able to capture all those gorgeous views.

7. Travel light.  You are not going on a fashion show. Wear comfortable shoes, dress for the climate and slap on SUNBLOCK.

8. Leave your work behind. Do not bring anything that can connect you to your work, unless you want to have your holiday ruined. That includes your phone if you use it for both work and play. Get a pre-paid sim card for emergency purposes.

9. Order a meal. If you are travelling on a budget airline, pay for that meal or buy a small snack (if you did not bring your own). Trust me, you will feel like a VIP just being able to have something to munch on 30,000 feet in the air.

10. Spend some time at the duty-free. Even if you do not intend to buy anything, splat the most expensive moisturizer you can find. Your skin will thank you for it.

11. Since you are already there, why not splash on some exquisite perfume as well?
