This lounge is probably one of the least inspiring First Class lounges that I have been to recently. Nonetheless, despite it showing its age through wear and tear, it is still in a generally well kept condition. This lounge is it is generally very quiet and that is a plus, because it is only open to First Class passengers (and Malaysia Airlines only has one route which offers First, to London Heathrow), and oneworld Emerald members (only).Â
As you enter the lounge, you will walk past the private dining room where there is always at least one very attentive and friendly lounge attendant welcoming you. Today, I walked past the dining area and went straight to the main lounge. The dining section is a separate room next to the first class lounge. Upon entering, I found myself in my favourite part of the lounge – this very quiet section.
After a nice hot shower, I was ready for a feast and the food in this lounge has never failed to disappoint me, ever!

Walking back towards the dining room, here is a photo of the main lounge area with some very comfy and cosy chairs.
Greeted at the door of the dining room, I was escorted to a table by the window.
My order was taken and as always, this HUGE basket of bread was brought to my table! It baffles me that they would serve this same basket no matter if you had one, two, three or four guests on the same table!
Before long, my appetiser was served – Hainanese Chicken Salad – beautiful presentation and very tasty!
As it would be a couple of months before I return to Malaysia, I could not resist a bowl of Laksa so here it is! Not the best, but I not complaining either.
I had to skip dessert because I was running out of time but I can definitely recommend the chocolate cake!
