Lounge Review: Diamond Premier Lounge, Fukuoka Domestic Airport

Date:

Japan has always been renowned for its efficiency so it was a surprise to me that I could actually get lost at an airport in Japan! It was a hot and humid summer morning when I arrived at the terminal so I was already perspiring the moment I started the trek from one end of the terminal to the other trying to locate the premium check-in area for Japan Airlines. It was only when I decided to ask a Jetstar employee that I was then directed to go up one level!

Upon arrival at the premium check-in lounge, I was very politely greeted by a staff member who escorted me to the desk and assisted me with my luggage. I was very promptly handed my boarding pass and was off through security and then up the escalators to the Diamond Premium Lounge for First Class passengers and OneWorld Emerald members. Business Class passengers and eligible passengers are directed to the adjacent Sakura Lounge.

The very long walkway leading to the main section of the lounge was very impressive. The lounge itself if very bright and airy with comfortable seatings. Food and beverage offerings were very basic as this is the domestic lounge very unlike the international Japan Airline lounges.

Before too long, it was time to board my flight to Tokyo Haneda. As you would expect at a Japanese airport, the boarding process was nothing short of efficient!
