This seems to be the place to be seen. As soon as we pulled into the little driveway, we felt a little underdressed and out of place. Everyone looked like a fashionista with their designer outfits, and there was also a cute little pooch with a Chanel sweater, countless Louis Vuitton suitcases and not too mention blings galore! It was a very busy evening but we were checked in pretty quickly. The hotel was apparently running pretty full on our first night so we were only upgraded to a Terrace Room as a Platinum Bonvoy member. Being an Edition, we don’t get too many perks but an upgrade is always welcomed!
Whilst the Editon brand is touted as a Distinctive Luxury brand, we felt like it was probably a more Premium or Upscale brand. Maybe it’s only because we are old and can only comprehend the timeless old world luxury that brand such as St Regis and Ritz Carlton generally offer!
Upon returning to the hotel in the afternoon on the second day, our keys did not work so we approached front desk. We were pleasantly surprised to be told that they had a Suite for us. We immediately went back to our room, packed up and a bellboy assisted us promptly to room move. The Suite did not have a terrace but was comfortably large enough. The decor was just as minimalistic and it lacked a bath tub.
Our favourite spot in the hotel is the rooftop pool which offers panoramic views of the LA skyline. However, it was just too cold to be in the water! The fitness centre was very well equipped too.
